.....because life's not always a breeze

Welcome to Changing Seasons Counselling.  Counselling for Individuals, Couples, Children and families in Wetherby, Boston Spa, Tadcaster, Collingham, Tadcaster, Knaresborough, Harrogate, and surrounding areas.

As most of us have experienced at some time or another, life’s not always a breeze – in fact sometimes it can feel like a tornado.  Relationships may break down or you may lose someone you love, either through death or separation.  Maybe you are feeling anxious over a situation at work or have an addiction that is getting out of hand.  Whatever it is, it may be worrying you, as we are not always prepared or equipped to deal with difficult situations and can suddenly find ourselves in turmoil emotionally and practically.

You are probably visiting my website as you are feeling troubled by issues you have been unable to resolve yourself.  You may have tried speaking to friends or family but it’s not helping or maybe you have nobody you can talk to?  Although you won’t find all the answers on here, hopefully it will provide some useful information and maybe it will encourage you to contact us to discuss how we may be able to help.

About Me

My name is Bev and I am a Registered Member of BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and work within their ethical framework for good practice in counselling and psychotherapy.  I am bound by their code of ethics and have monthly clinical supervision, regular continued professional development and training as well as full professional indemnity insurance.

I have worked as a Counsellor for 16 years and started as a volunteer with Cruse Bereavement, helping people come to terms with the loss of someone close and later worked with young adolescents in a college setting.  I chose to develop my training through Relate as a Relationship therapist and stayed there for 7 years, during which time I studied at Birkbeck College at the University of London for two years, achieving a Post Graduate Certificate in Systemic Practice (Couples & Families).

My experience includes working within a variety of settings and different client groups, offering individual face to face, skype and telephone therapy, couples therapy, family work and in schools with children aged 5-16 years.  I have extensive knowledge and experience in working with relationship issues, transitions, family difficulties, self esteem, depression, anxiety, grief and loss.  My style of working combines psychodynamic, person-centred and systemic therapy to offer an understanding, supportive yet appropriately challenging approach to my clinical work, thus supporting my clients to effect meaningful change and build better relationships.

Sessions are available in the Wetherby, Boston Spa and York areas. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you work towards a more positive life.
