Changing Seasons Counselling

.....because life's not always a breeze

Coming to therapy for the first time might feel daunting but it is a very positive step in the right direction and is nothing to worry about.  I promise to make it a safe and confidential environment so I can help you to improve your sense of well-being, alleviate your distress and hopefully, increase your ability to solve problems.

The first time we meet will be for an initial assessment. This will give you a chance to talk to me about why you have decided to seek my help, what you are struggling with and what you are hoping to improve in your life.  We will discuss what happens in therapy, how it can change things and whether you wish to have regular future sessions with me. Finding the best therapist for you is fundamental in making a difference to the outcome of the therapy so it is important we use the initial session to discuss this.

There is no limit to the number of sessions you may have but we will plan the likely number of sessions jointly and regularly review how the therapy is progressing throughout our work together.  Everyone is different - some people only need a few sessions and others need more.  We will work together to decide what is right for you as an individual (or couple).

In my experience I feel that successful therapy depends upon the relationship between the therapist and the client and once a trust has been built you can feel safe to explore yourself.  As I work under the BACP Code of Ethics, boundaries and confidentiality are vital to our work together.

Sessions last for 55 minutes and I offer daytime, evening and Saturday appointments.
