What to Expect

What to Expect

Sometimes the hardest thing is taking the first step towards getting help

How I work

Initially, we will have a short telephone conversation or contact by email so you can ask any questions about the sessions and briefly outline the reasons for contacting me. We will then set up an initial consultation at one of my practice locations, or by video appointment if you prefer.

Although the first session may seem daunting, we will go at your pace, step-by-step to discuss the help that you may need. We will talk about your hopes for the future and how therapy can help you find your way. I will offer you non-judgemental support and a professional and understanding approach.

Together we will discuss options for working in therapy and decide upon a treatment plan, the number of sessions you may need and how regularly, cost and location. This is very individual and can vary person to person and there is no limit to the number of sessions you can have.

During the counselling process, we will review our work together at regular intervals to ensure you are getting what you need from your therapy.

Session Fees and Information

Counsellor fees vary, based upon qualifications, experience and additional training. My fees start from £70 per session, depending on the therapy offered.

I offer reduced session fees for trainee counsellors, low incomes, and university students. Please feel free to ask.

Fees are paid in advance of the session by bank transfer to the Changing Seasons bank account. Alternatively, cash or card payment can be made at the session.

Appointments cancelled for any reason will be charged in full unless you give 48 hours’ notice of cancellation. If a client is late, I will still honour your session but the appointment will still end at the scheduled time.

Changing Seasons Counselling reserves the right to charge for sessions cancelled within 48 hours or for non-attendance.  Contact between sessions is for administrative purposes only, to book, cancel and re-arrange appointments.

Sessions are up to 55 minutes in duration. Longer sessions of 75 or 90 minutes can also be arranged, and are charged on a pro-rata basis.

If you are an employer seeking Counselling help for one of your employees, please contact me to discuss.

"Bev has been amazing, I’ve been to her a couple of times now and I really don’t think I would be in the place I am now without her. I couldn’t recommend her enough to anyone."

Beth 2020

"Beverley has a very kind and understanding approach which has really helped me to feel comfortable enough to talk about and think more about my problems, which in turn has helped me to come to terms with a lot of my issues and be kinder to myself and has really helped my self esteem. It's nice to have your thoughts and feelings validated and be able to work through them and understand them.

If you're looking for excellent counselling in a calm, safe and understanding environment, I highly recommend Beverley."

BD Sept 2020

"Humans never cease to amaze me with their resilience and strength. Often in times of crisis and despair they can find inner strength to re-build their lives and find coping skills."
